Amidst the Ashes of the United States

The Story

Elizabeth stands day and night outside the emergency room after her mother dies. She calls her husband Adam and hears a woman moaning in the background. The mistress is right there with him. Tears stream down Elizabeth's face as her voice shakes while she demands one hundred million euros. Adam roars back, asking if he was too generous for three years. He accuses her of blackmail and states that her dead mother is not worth that amount. Before the call ends, the woman whispers that she cannot wait any longer.
