Betrayed by My Son

The Story

Maren Ashford shatters her son’s life the moment he announces his engagement to a forty-year-old housekeeper. She marries Rowan that same night and severs all financial ties, limiting Callum’s support to three hundred dollars a month. Believing his mother bluffs, he moves into a cheap apartment and steals confidential company bid documents. He sells these secrets to a rival, only to discover Maren engineered the entire trap. The rival loses twenty million, exposing Callum’s betrayal publicly. He kneels before her, accepting a three-month punishment scrubbing toilets and moving boxes. When Mavis returns pregnant and begs for the safe code, Callum complies but immediately calls his mother. As Mavis’s family is caught red-handed, Callum stands firmly beside his mother. He admits his foolishness but declares he will not remain stupid forever. Maren presents him with a promotion letter. He breaks down, admitting he was wrong. Holding her newborn, she smiles and asks him to help his little brother walk the right path.
