Beyond the Ashes

The Story

Elizabeth wakes to find her mother dead, having kept vigil all night in the hospital corridor. She calls her husband Adam, only to hear a woman moaning in the background. Adam’s rage erupts immediately, accusing Elizabeth of stealing 130 billion won and pampering herself for three years. He dismisses the mother’s death as worthless compared to the missing fortune. Just before the line cuts, the woman’s voice slips out, begging her honey for one more night of intimacy.
