Crown of the Nile: My Beggar Husband is the Pharaoh

The Story

Merit wakes from a tragic death to find herself back at the Nile Inundation Festival. In her previous life, her jealous sister Nefti murdered her after Merit boosted her husband’s career. Now, both women are reborn with fresh ambitions. Nefti targets the powerful officer Hemte for status, but Merit’s sacred scarab lands on Kaji, a beggar who is actually the Pharaoh Amenem testing noble ladies. Defying public ridicule, Merit marries the destitute man. Inside their shabby hut, she uses remarkable folk medicine to win his deep affection. Envy drives Nefti to frame Merit, leading to brutal torture in prison. At the brink of death, Kaji reveals his royal identity and punishes the villains. Merit survives war and plague while earning the admiration of the Hittite emperor. She protects the kingdom with wisdom and mercy, eventually becoming Queen and sharing sincere, mutual love with Kaji.
