The Story

Lauren Bennett discovers her mother-in-law has secretly sold her home to fund Travis Hayes, a roguish brother-in-law who has already sexually harassed a client and abused his wife. Travis further assaults Lauren, nearly causing a miscarriage, while Derek Hayes enables the family’s constant leeching through cowardice. Fed up with the toxicity, Lauren awakens from her trauma and chooses divorce. She fights back legally against the family that has drained her life. Travis receives an eight-year prison sentence, and the mother-in-law is sent away. Lauren reclaims her life by breaking free from the leeching relatives who tried to control her.
