Don't Mess with the Colonel's Granddaughter
The Story
Retired Colonel Ambrose Aldercott flies home commercially with his granddaughter Rosalind, only to face immediate hostility from his son’s fiancée, Odessa. At the airport, Odessa accuses them of being con artists. She rips out the Colonel’s oxygen, forces Rosalind to kneel and shine her shoes, and inflicts cuts on Rosalind’s face and hair. Rosalind suppresses her anger and quietly gathers evidence instead of exposing the abuse. She waits until her grandfather’s eightieth birthday party to act. In front of the assembled guests, she makes Odessa pay for her actions. During the confrontation, she uncovers the veterans’ money that Odessa had stolen, revealing the full extent of the betrayal.
