Farewell to My Three-Time Failing Ex

The Story

Claire spends seven years as Damien's overlooked assistant and secret wife, existing in the shadows of his obsession with his first love. Their daughter is never permitted to call him Dad, a bond broken by his emotional distance. When Claire decides to leave, their daughter imposes three final tests on her father. He fails each one catastrophically. He chooses to save his first love from a falling chandelier instead of Claire. He steals their daughter's achievement to please his first love's child. His negligence nearly costs their daughter her life, serving as the final straw. Claire leaves decisively. Damien eventually discovers her silent sacrifices, but it is too late. His desperate pleas meet cold rejection. He faces a life spent in atonement for the wounds he caused.
