Forgave Her 100 Times, Then I Walked
The Story
Graham Whitmore stands at the edge of his final promise. The chancellor in white owes his entire existence to the late emperor, a debt he repaid by sacrificing his youth and adopting the color of the realm. He pledged to the dying sovereign that he would tolerate the new empress, the emperor’s daughter, exactly one hundred times. He accepted her corrupt ministers and her straying behavior without protest, bowing his head each time. Now the hundredth offense has arrived. Graham prepares to walk away from the throne and never look back, ending his decade of silent endurance.
