The Story
Ella Davis carries the weight of a childhood injustice that defined her adult life. At ten, she took the blame for a lost antique watch, a mistake that forced her to work for every penny for seventeen years. Now battling lupus, she desperately needs twenty thousand dollars for treatment. Her parents ignore her medical emergency, instead diverting the funds to purchase an apartment for her brother and pay for her sister’s overseas education. The family’s cold indifference seals Ella’s fate as she dies after being locked in the basement.
