He Held Her Hand First

The Story

Wren Winters grips her seat as the cabin wall rips open on a private flight bound for her destination wedding. Her fiancé Julian Ashford stands nearby, yet his first outstretched hand seeks Chloe Sinclair. After the plane lands, Julian hands Chloe Wren’s sole pair of flat shoes, forcing her to cross the debris until her feet bleed. He labels the incident an emergency and promises to make it right, asking her not to turn one terrifying day into a fight. As the wedding date nears, Chloe continues to appear in moments reserved for the bride. Wren is compelled to confront a question she never anticipated asking. She wonders who has always held the first place in Julian’s heart.
