He said the baby was too expensive
The Story
Iris sacrifices her vast wealth to marry Dorian, a man of humble means. Three years later, she nears childbirth, but her controlling mother-in-law Tessa refuses to pay for a hospital, deeming the cost too high. Tessa pressures Dorian to move his wife to a cheaper facility. Dorian, accustomed to his mother’s influence, complies and begins mistreating Iris. Her suffering intensifies as demands grow irrational during her late-stage pregnancy. Just as she reaches her breaking point, her father Alec arrives with gifts intended for the unborn grandson. Alec steps in to defend his daughter against the couple’s cruelty. Iris finally confronts her husband and mother-in-law, forcing them to face the consequences of their neglect. The once-pampered Dorian and his domineering mother must reckon with the heir who gave up everything for them.
