Her Last Wish

The Story

Serpent Ivy White faces a violent end on the day her son is born, as William Bellamy sets her ablaze to seize her Core. For a millennium, Ivy served the Bellamy family after a scholar saved her life, a debt marked by the removal of her skin. This sacrifice granted every family member the power to demand three wishes from her. When William’s turn arrived, he rejected wealth and fame, choosing instead to claim Ivy as his wife. Their marriage produced a son, but the union ended in fire. William sought to possess her power through destruction, assuming he held all the cards. He did not account for Ivy’s own preparations. She had been anticipating this specific moment for a thousand years, waiting for the precise instant her husband would strike. The flames consume her, but the outcome remains far from certain.
