His Love Came After I Drowned

The Story

Tessa Caldwell never expected the man who soothed her through years of painful therapy to become her greatest tormentor. Marcus Sterling betrayed her trust by joining her family in abusing her on his yacht, all to protect his foster sister Ivy’s fragile ego. Abandoned in a deadly storm and falsely accused, Tessa barely survived the ordeal. When news of her survival reached Marcus, regret consumed him. He stripped Ivy of her privileges and publicly confessed his crimes. He even subjected himself to brutal water immersion simulations to understand her terror, hoping this suffering would buy him a second chance. But Tessa had learned that love permitting harm is no love at all. Old family bonds no longer held her back. She pursued justice in court and rejected the man begging for redemption. Free from the past, she set out to build a life defined solely by her own choices.
