I Gave My wife A Red Tasseled Spear

The Story

The wife returns from a three-year campaign, holding another man's hand and presenting a divorce letter. She demands a heroic husband, dismissing her spouse as a weak scholar. He had retired from his post as the empire's Grand Marshal to honor his parents' wishes and marry her. Before she departed, he gifted her a legendary spear forged from thousand-year-old cold iron. Now clad in silver armor and visibly pregnant, she stands before him with her new companion. She does not know that the man she scorned is the empire's guardian deity. He removes his scholar's disguise and dons his marshal armor. He takes up his legendary weapon, and she finally recognizes the true identity of the powerful figure she had married.
