I Left Him for His Rival

The Story

Esther Jennings confronts a devastating betrayal when she finds her fiancé, Channing, cheating with her half-sister, Ember, who is already carrying his child. Shattered by the double blow, Esther plots her own revenge by entering a cold, business-like agreement with Carl Shepherd, the ruthless figure known as the Devil of Riverton. She trades her freedom for his power, using his influence to crush the people who broke her heart. Their arrangement begins as a purely strategic alliance, with neither party expecting anything more than mutual benefit. Yet, as Esther systematically dismantles the lives of those who wronged her, the rigid walls of their fake marriage start to crack. The intense proximity forces them to see each other clearly, and a genuine affection slowly takes root in the wreckage of their initial hatred.
