Love and Regret

The Story

Evelyn, a renowned European war correspondent known as Night Owl, trades her dangerous career for a marriage to Colonial Major Arthur. The union quickly turns sour under the weight of cold violence, her stepdaughter's open disdain, and her cousin Lina's manipulative schemes. Upon uncovering Arthur's infidelity and Lina's treachery, Evelyn secures a divorce and returns to the Balkan front under her alias. Her investigative reports on arms trafficking and colonial atrocities capture Europe's attention, earning her the support of media mogul Edmund. Arthur attempts to reclaim her affection but fails in his efforts. Lina is eventually exposed for espionage and arms trading, leading to her imprisonment. Arthur dies in battle, leaving behind a letter filled with regret. One year later, Evelyn adopts an orphan named Bella while continuing her mission as a strong, independent voice for truth.
