Mom Wins Five Million Dollars
The Story
Margaret Wallace endures harsh abuse and starvation at the hands of her eldest son, Aaron Wallace, who treats her like a domestic servant. She saves money from collecting scrap metal to purchase a lottery ticket that wins five million dollars. To test her family's loyalty, she hides the fortune. Aaron and his wife display false kindness before ultimately evicting her. With nowhere else to turn, she approaches her youngest son, Eric Wallace, who rejects her. Her daughter-in-law, Hannah Wallace, offers her shelter, prompting Margaret to reveal the prize. When Margaret falls ill, both sons refuse to cover her medical expenses, and Eric forbids Hannah from assisting. Outraged by their greed, Hannah demands a divorce and pays the bills herself. In gratitude, Margaret hands the winning ticket to her daughter-in-law. On her deathbed, Margaret sees only selfishness in her sons' eyes. Heartbroken, she claims the ticket is destroyed. As her sons frantically search for the missing pieces, Margaret dies in bitter disappointment.
