Mother and Daughter

The Story

Chloe Miller and Victoria Sterling are separated by a tragedy from Chloe’s childhood, when Victoria fled an abusive captor and left her daughter behind to be presumed dead. Years pass, and Chloe endures poverty, bullying, and disability while caring for a mute grandmother. Victoria rises to power but remains haunted by trauma and an unceasing search for her lost child. The two collide when Chloe enters the Sterling household as a tutor. Misunderstandings, false accusations, and Maya’s stolen identity cause them to repeatedly miss one another. Victoria finally recognizes the truth through childhood memories, a handmade pouch, scars, and Bunny Milk Candy. Chloe, deeply wounded by years of rejection, refuses to offer easy forgiveness. The relationship becomes a painful reckoning between a mother who loved too late and a daughter forced to grow up without protection.
