The Story

Merritt grinds through extra shifts to fund his brother Tobin's surgery until a chaotic night in the Ashby Hotel presidential suite changes everything. Their paths cross again in a private gambling room, where Merritt discovers the man is Stellan Ashby, head of the Ashby Group. Desperate to cover Tobin's mounting medical bills, Merritt seeks a loan from Stellan, and the two grow closer. A blood test confirms ninety-nine point nine nine percent paternity, leading Stellan to propose a marriage contract that dissolves once the twins are born. Merritt accepts, but Stellan quickly proves he is more than a biological father. He remembers Merritt's favorite breakfast, drives him home at midnight, and grows jealous over simple hugs. Finally, Stellan tears up the contract and declares that he wants his husband, not just a clause.
