The Story

Esther spends five years trapped in a marriage defined by betrayal and violence. Her husband Carl cheats on her and abuses her until he indirectly causes the death of their daughter. On their fifth anniversary, a heated argument leads to Carl’s accidental death. In a state of shock, Esther buries his body in the backyard and goes to sleep. The next morning, Carl reappears alive. He behaves as the gentle man she once loved, showing no trace of his previous cruelty. This sudden transformation leaves Esther deeply confused. She questions whether her husband actually rose from the grave or if an impostor now occupies his place. The return of a familiar figure with a completely different personality forces her to confront the terrifying possibility that the man she buried is not the one standing in her kitchen.
