My Grumpy Captain, My Sunshine Girl

The Story

Julian, a former football captain paralyzed by his abusive coach Corey, endures bitter isolation at Blackwood Manor. His life changes when orphan Leanna saves him from a rooftop suicide attempt. Mary, Julian's mother, adopts the optimistic girl in hopes of healing her son's broken spirit. Leanna uses quirky roleplays and constant chatter to melt Julian's cold exterior. When a bully named Miller attacks Julian at an elite academy, the captain stands for the first time in years to protect her. Together, they uncover evidence of Corey's past sabotage. Leanna's biscuit-reward rehabilitation helps Julian secretly regain his ability to walk. He enters an international match as a substitute and overcomes Miller's dirty tactics to score the championship-winning goal. Police eventually expose Corey's drugging scheme. At the victory ball, Julian shares his first dance with Leanna in the garden, celebrating their new life and warm family bonds under the moonlight.
