The Story

Camille Bellgrave commands the Bellgrave empire in Miami, raising her daughter Poppy with husband Preston, whom the public views as a gentle partner. Alistair, her father, dismisses Preston as incompetent, but Camille trusts him completely, preparing to expand his corporate authority after a major deal closes. She also grants Celeste Fenwick, her closest friend, unlimited access to their oceanfront home. Unbeknownst to Camille, Preston and Celeste have conspired against her for some time. Preston uses treats and cartoons to keep Poppy quiet so he can conduct an affair with Celeste inside the house. The deception unravels when Poppy chases a rainbow ball to the backyard pool. A gust of wind sends the toy into the water, causing the girl to slip on wet tiles and fall in. Camille is driving home when she sees Poppy thrashing underwater on the security feed. She calls Preston repeatedly, unaware that he is currently inside the house while Celeste has silenced his phone.
