My Nephew's Fiancée, My Wife

The Story

Brooke Jennings fires a Gatling Gun firework at assassins ambushing Lord Rhodes, saving his life during a street encounter. This act of rescue disrupts a pre-existing arrangement, as Brooke was originally betrothed to Quentin Rhodes, the Lord's nephew. Quentin had faked his death specifically to escape this marriage commitment. Lord Rhodes immediately cancels his nephew's engagement and proposes to Brooke instead. He declares that he will devote himself to her in repayment for saving his life. While he acts as the king of the underworld in public, he promises to be her slave at home. The former fiancé is now a stranger, and the powerful head of the Rhodes Family becomes her new partner.
