My Promise to the Ghost Groom

The Story

A Yin Maiden continues the lineage of men who died young, performing wedding ceremonies and rituals in decorated bridal chambers. She has successfully arranged heirs for 107 deceased men, earning three hundred taels of silver for each completed case. Today, she takes on her 108th job and welcomes her 108th husband into her life. The atmosphere surrounding this new arrangement feels distinctly different from her previous experiences. As she prepares to fulfill the requirements of her trade, the familiar routine appears to shift. The introduction of this latest client marks a significant deviation from the standard process she has mastered over many years. The situation presents an unusual dynamic that challenges the established norms of her profession.
