The Story

A fire leaves five-year-old Anna critically injured while her mother, housewife Karen, sneaks around with a secret lover. Good Samaritan Merry and Fire Captain Bob rush the child to the hospital for emergency surgery, but the ambulance collides with Karen’s car as she heads home. Blinded by rage and desperate to cover her tracks, Karen blocks the emergency vehicle. She demands apologies and damages, refusing to listen when paramedic Eve tries to reason with her. Neither Merry nor Eve can move the woman who is determined to exact her will. Karen remains completely unaware that the life she is actively sabotaging belongs to her own daughter. The collision and subsequent standoff freeze the scene, leaving the outcome of Anna’s surgery uncertain as Karen continues her aggressive confrontation.
