Regret Is the Ultimate Punishment

The Story

A house fire claims the life of five-year-old Anna, sending her father Tom into a desperate race against time. Fire Captain Bob drives the truck while Good Samaritan Merry and paramedic Eve rush to transport the girl for emergency surgery. Their path is blocked by Karen, Tom’s wife, who is driving home after an extramarital affair. The fire truck collides with her car, halting the rescue. Karen demands an apology and payment for the damage, refusing to yield despite pleas from Merry, Eve, and bystanders. She wastes critical minutes arguing over the accident, completely unaware that the vehicle she is obstructing carries her own dying daughter. The paramedics and good samaritans struggle to convince her to move, but Karen remains stubborn and oblivious to the tragedy unfolding inside the truck. Her refusal to step aside prolongs the delay, trapping the medical team in a standoff that prevents them from reaching the hospital in time to save Anna.
