The Story

Elena secretly runs a Chicago real estate company while enduring the abuse of Mark’s family. In her vintage Austin estate, she faces violence from Mark’s stepfather Frank and indifference from Mark. She swiftly sells the property and forces the Mark family onto the streets. They attempt to seize the sale proceeds and take over the business, but a top lawyer hired by Elena stops them. The family then blackmails her over their daughter’s custody. In court, the lawyer presents irrefutable evidence of domestic violence, securing a total defeat for the Mark family. Frank later kidnaps Elena for ransom. The lawyer and his security team subdue him, sending him to prison for many years. Burdened by massive debt, Mark’s family falls into poverty.
