The Story

Clara Whitmore abandons her wealthy heritage to marry Daniel Carter, secretly fueling his career and raising their daughter Lily. Yet Daniel remains tethered to his first love Vanessa, who returns with her own daughter Sophie. Tensions explode when Daniel fails to pay construction workers for months. Desperate, a worker named Marcus abducts both girls and drags them to a rooftop. Daniel arrives to rescue them but chooses Sophie, the child of his ex lover, over his own biological daughter. In the ensuing chaos, Lily falls from the high-rise building. The tragedy only registers at Lily’s funeral, where Daniel confronts the unbearable reality of his actions. He realizes that by prioritizing Sophie and leaving Lily behind, he directly caused his daughter’s death with his own hands.
