Reunited in Happiness

The Story

Nathan Wright carries a secret permanent injury sustained while saving a drowning boy, Ethan Foster, five years prior. Now married to Ethan’s mother, Caroline, Nathan hides this truth from his wife. Ethan, unaware of his stepfather’s heroic past, relentlessly bullies his stepsister, Grace Wright, forcing her to drink toilet water and triggering her milk allergy. Both Caroline and her mother, Margaret, blindly defend Ethan’s cruelty. Although Nathan secures employment to gain independence, Margaret continues to exert financial control over him. Pushed to the brink, a heartbroken Nathan demands a divorce. In the chaos, Ethan finally discovers that Nathan is the man who saved his life. As Ethan chases after his departing stepfather, a car strikes him. Caroline learns the truth immediately. Guilt-ridden, Ethan begs for forgiveness upon waking. Margaret softens, and the family begins to heal. Ethan and Grace finally bond, creating a peaceful household where the family prospers together.
