She Blocked the Cure for Her Own Child
The Story
Natalie Collins races against time to secure a sixty thousand dollar surgery for a critically ill child named Leo. She arrives at the bank to raise her withdrawal limit and encounters Fiona, a rigid teller who demands impossible proof of identity. Natalie swallows her anger for Leo's sake and endures every absurd hurdle to secure the funds. Just as the bank finally approves the transaction, her phone lights up with a photograph. The image shows Leo and his mother smiling together, revealing that the woman standing at the counter is none other than his mother. The very person blocking the life-saving treatment is the mother of the child Natalie is trying to save.
