The Elf Queen's Choice

The Story

Aethera, the last Starlight Elf queen, watches her arranged marriage dissolve as she discovers fiancé Cassian in bed with cousin Maeve. She rips up the contract and selects Kaelen, a despised half-elf outcast, in his place. Her people view this choice as madness, unaware that Kaelen is the ruthless Shadow King who has secretly ruled a powerful overseas kingdom for fifteen years. Their union begins as a magical alliance, with Aethera insisting they remain mere partners. Kaelen counters with an army of thirty thousand, immense wealth, and fierce devotion. Tensions rise when Cassian begs for forgiveness and Maeve’s noble facade collapses. A terrifying rift opens in the sky during the Grand Star Festival, prompting Kaelen to sacrifice himself to shield Aethera with his blood. She unleashes the full power of Starspeech, binding her soul to his to save him. Their boundaries disappear as convenience transforms into love. To the Shadow King, she is not part of a plan, but the only place he has ever called home.
