The Firefighter's Choice

The Story

Lily’s tiny hand vanishes into the flames while her father, a firefighter, chooses to rescue their dog instead of his screaming three-year-old daughter. Chloe’s whimpering takes priority over Lily’s desperate cries for her daddy. The woman watches helplessly as her child is consumed by the fire. After the tragedy, Chloe whispers that her father will not believe her accusations. He remains loyal to the dog, dismissing her warnings. The truth finally surfaces when police call regarding Lily’s death certificate. Chloe then laughs, revealing she started the fire and locked Lily inside. She declares that Ethan is now hers. The revelation arrives far too late to change the outcome. One selfish decision burns everything down, leaving the family shattered by betrayal and loss.
