The Story

Princess Isabella arrives bearing a plague remedy she created, hoping to honor her father’s upcoming remarriage. Her new stepmother Margaret reacts with intense resentment, publicly humiliating and physically beating Isabella. Margaret then falsely accuses her of witchcraft, torching her late mother’s portrait and vital medicinal herbs. She sentences Isabella to burn at the stake. The king eventually uncovers the deception and rushes to the scene to rescue his daughter from the flames.
