The Hero Who Broke Me

The Story

Sienna regrets ending things with Shane at the hospital almost immediately. Unable to locate his classified deployment address, she seeks help from her mother, Tara Vale. Fearing the relationship will cause Sienna more pain after her recent accident, Tara asks Ace for assistance. At that moment, Ace is being blamed by the family for Shane missing a board meeting. He deliberately provides Hartwell Mansion as the mailing address and uses his household management authority to intercept all private letters meant for Shane. Tara believes Ace will deliver the correspondence. Instead, he hides Sienna's letter in a waterproof toolbox at the mansion's old dock. This chain of deliberate actions severs their communication completely. Sienna does not know the classified address, Tara intervenes, Ace supplies a false location, and the household mail system blocks the letters. Consequently, Shane never learns that Sienna regretted the breakup.
