The Nanny Who Stayed

The Story

Lila Carter’s thirteenth job starts when she becomes the live-in nanny for the wealthy Hale family in Boston. Following her twelfth firing for confronting a harasser, the Cleveland native arrives to care for shy, artistic Mia. The household is dominated by Claire Bennett, a trustee who has kept the reclusive widower architect Ethan, his reserved mother Margaret, and Mia under strict control for years. Lila’s fearless nature quickly clashes with Claire’s iron grip. She not only nurtures Mia but also begins to thaw the cold atmosphere of the home. In doing so, she uncovers a decade-old secret that threatens to destroy the family. This revelation presents a critical choice for the Hales. They can either face the potential destruction of their lives or finally find freedom from Claire’s long-standing hold. Lila’s presence forces the family to confront the truth that has been buried for ten years.
