The Poisonous Karma

The Story

A desperate escape from abuse leads Ke Ke to the mountains, where a fall from a tree nearly kills her until Zuo Lanxin intervenes. While picking mushrooms, Ke Ke discards deadly specimens, but Du Jichang secretly mixes them with safe ones to cook chicken soup. He forbids Ke Ke from eating and beats her when she warns him of the danger. The poisoning causes Pan Rong to miscarry, prompting Du Jichang to frame Ke Ke and force her to flee. She seeks refuge with Zuo Lanxin, whose family struggles financially while her youngest son, Kangkang, battles leukemia. Zuo Lanxin takes in the well-behaved child despite their hardships. Eventually, CEO Tang Meng locates Ke Ke, revealing he is her father. Grateful for Zuo Lanxin’s kindness, Tang Meng arranges treatment for Kangkang’s illness and secures employment for Zuo Lanxin, resolving the family’s immediate crises.
