The Punishment Named Regret

The Story

Karen, a housewife married to wealthy lawyer Tom, steps away from her home during an affair when a fire breaks out, leaving their five-year-old daughter Anna critically injured. Kind-hearted Mary rides in the fire truck driven by Captain Bob, racing to the hospital for emergency surgery. As the truck speeds through the streets, it accidentally scrapes Karen’s car while she returns from her tryst. Obsessed with the damage to her vehicle, Karen blocks the truck’s path, demanding an apology and compensation. She refuses to move despite desperate pleas from Mary, paramedic Eva, and bystanders. Completely unaware of the child dying inside the truck, Karen remains stubbornly focused on her own loss, blocking the life-saving transport for her own daughter.
