The Red Light Curse

The Story

A blizzard traps a family in a mountain cabin where Grace, a scientist mother, relies on thermal monitoring bracelets to ration food. Anna’s bracelet glows green, marking her as fragile, while Chloe’s remains red, branding her a liar and food thief. Grace blindly trusts the red light, subjecting Chloe to escalating abuse, starvation, and freezing isolation in the attic while coddling Anna. As Chloe suffers, a chilling truth emerges. The bracelet is broken, and Anna’s green light is a sham. Grace continues to punish Chloe based on this faulty data. The family remains trapped in the cold, with Grace’s faith in the technology driving the separation between her daughters. Chloe endures the freezing isolation alone while Anna receives care. The broken device dictates the family dynamic, keeping Chloe in the attic and Grace focused on the incorrect signal.
