The Son They Cast Away

The Story

Nolan returns from five years of prison to find his adoptive brother Bryce celebrating an Ivy League milestone. The family that raised him from an orphanage chose to believe Bryce’s lies, leading to Nolan’s wrongful conviction for a hit-and-run that left a young man comatose. During his incarceration, Bryce bribed inmates to ensure Nolan suffered physically and emotionally, costing him a leg and his health. Now standing in his old orphanage uniform, Nolan presents restored crash footage and a prison recording that exposes Bryce’s corruption. The victim, Jonah, is conscious and ready to testify. One by one, Nolan lays the truth before the relatives who abandoned him. He signs the estrangement papers and walks away, leaving the family in shock. He heads toward Maren, the only person who never stopped believing in him. Nolan does not seek forgiveness for the past. He moves forward with a singular focus on demanding justice for the years he lost.
