Too Late To Keep Me
The Story
Serafina Morelli loses her unborn child when emergency care stalls behind an approval system controlled by her husband, Adriano. This tragedy reveals that his protection functions as another layer of control. Adriano dismisses her divorce demand as a tantrum, keeping his aide Viviana in charge of Serafina's finances, residence, and medical access. Rejecting hollow promises that arrive after the damage is done, Serafina departs with a suitcase and unsigned divorce papers. She joins her father Leone at the South Docks to investigate suspicious freight releases, duplicate invoices, and diverted payments. As evidence accumulates, Adriano learns the truth about the miscarriage and faces the cost of prioritizing control over his wife's words. His apology arrives too late. Serafina files the signed petition and secures her independence. She builds a life that belongs entirely to her, including her own work, account, and apartment, holding a key no one else can authorize.
