The Story

Ten-year-old Lily endures constant electric shocks from a wristband her mother believes detects deceit. Her twin, Ruby, wears a counterfeit device that remains green, ensuring Lily is blamed for every accusation. The tragedy peaks on New Year's Eve when Lily's appendix ruptures. Her mother dismisses the girl's desperate cries for help, convinced the pain is another fabricated lie. Lily dies in severe agony. The mother later realizes the gadget only measures fear, not truth. Overwhelmed by guilt and insanity, she attacks Ruby and loses her entire family. She dies while holding Lily's diary. The child's spirit finally rests, liberated from suffering, falsehood, and strict control.
