Two Wives, Two Divorces

The Story

Seven months pregnant, a woman faces certain death in a burning house while her husband ignores her pleas for help. Her best friend, Leah, breaks down the door to save her, but the Harper brothers remain indifferent to the tragedy. The older brother, a fire captain, dismisses the blaze as a false alarm to rescue a cat, while the younger, a famous surgeon, refuses to treat his wife’s critical condition. The woman loses her baby, and the emotional devastation shatters her spirit. She declares her intent to divorce, and Leah vows to leave her own husband alongside her. The two women reject the brothers’ cold behavior, deciding their lives are worth more than the men’s indifference. That night, the Harper brothers receive the divorce agreements, and panic sets in.
