Ugly Mask, Secret Beauty

The Story

An Oscar-winning father and Grammy-winning mother reject their daughter for her appearance, labeling her an ugly Toad and abandoning her with Grandma Maggie. Eighteen years later, she returns home from Harvard wearing a mask. Her father sneers at her hidden face, while her mother mocks her for standing beside the gorgeous Sienna, claiming it is humiliating. Sienna holds her hand and sighs that beauty is a curse, calling her blessed to be ugly. Her hand freezes. Grandma Maggie has mailed them letters and photos every month for years, raving about how stunning she has grown and how boys chase her everywhere. The parents have never opened a single envelope. They have no idea who actually stands before them.
