You Ignored My Birthday So I Erased Myself From The Family
The Story
Eighteen years of silence define a July nineteenth that finally breaks. The family treats every other member’s celebration with lavish attention, yet the protagonist’s date remains a forgotten void in their calendar. While Ethan receives reservations for a steakhouse and Chloe gets a theme park trip, the girl prepares for her own milestone. She wakes early, applies makeup, and waits on the couch for recognition. Instead, her mother leaves with a dance bag, instructing her to heat lunch, while her father departs for a ball game. By noon, isolation settles in. She posts a message to the group chat celebrating her adulthood, but the response is absolute silence. When the household returns at seven, dinner consists of ribs and mac and cheese for the siblings. No cake appears, no candles burn, and no song is sung. To them, nothing is missing. Now legally an adult, she holds the power to decide her own path.
