The Story

A virus sweeps through Hollow Creek, turning residents into infected creatures. Three-year-old Maisie gets bitten and transforms, yet she keeps her sanity and deep attachment to her mother Mary. Fear drives the townspeople to demand her surrender, but Mary fights to keep her daughter safe. Strict rules are established as the community discovers that zombies fear Maisie. Mother and daughter take turns guarding the town entrance against the horde. When refugees arrive, Doctor Elias identifies Maisie's blood as a potential cure for the virus. Samples are sent away for analysis. During this time, Maisie finally speaks the word Mama clearly. For Mary, her child is not a weapon or a savior. She is simply her one-of-a-kind daughter.
