A Father's Sin

The Story

Five-year-old twins lose their lives after men from a disciplinary boarding school forcibly remove them from their home. The girls cling to the car door, crying and screaming for their father, but Kathleen and the narrator discover the children lifeless and bruised the next day. Their breathing stops forever. This tragedy occurs because the husband sent the daughters to their deaths for disturbing his first love. While the family mourns the loss of the twins, the husband ignores the horror. He spends his time on Instagram, celebrating the pregnancy of his mistress. The contrast between the girls' final moments and his digital celebration defines the scene.
