The Story

A ritual bride earns her living by helping deceased young men preserve their lineage. She has completed one hundred and seven such ceremonies, collecting three hundred silver pieces for each. Tradition dictates a wedding ceremony with the dead, followed by the ritual in a prepared bridal chamber. Today, she begins her one hundred and eighth mission with her one hundred and eighth husband. The atmosphere feels different this time.
