Ashes Couldn't Bury Her

The Story

Seven years ago, Arthur’s father Walter forcibly extracted Elodie’s neural cells to save his grandson Colin, leaving her near death and dumped in the Ashen City landfill. Stripped of her memory, Elodie survived on the residual energy of her pendant to raise her daughter Iloen in the slums. When Iloen saves up crystals to treat her mother’s illness, a conflict with Colin leads Helen to blacklist her identity. Elodie is struck by a hover-car to protect Iloen, forcing the girl to sell her own heart for a Voss Group bio-chip, only to be blocked again. Arthur gradually confirms Iloen is his daughter through the pendant’s reaction and a paternity test, while suspecting the woman in the hospital bed is Elodie. Vera conceals the genetic report out of jealousy, and Lucian attempts consciousness-overwriting on Elodie. Arthur rescues Elodie, Walter confesses the truth, Vera is imprisoned, and Lucian’s memory deteriorates. Elodie wakes with no memory but finds love with Arthur, Colin, and Iloen by her side.
