Father's Sin

The Story

Kathleen’s husband abandons their five-year-old twins to die because they displeased his first love. Thugs from a reformatory break into the home, dragging the screaming girls away. The children’s small hands grip the car door tightly as they wail for their father. The next day, Kathleen and the narrator find the girls. Their bodies lie still and breathless, covered in bruises. The daughters are gone forever. At that exact moment, the husband posts on Instagram. He celebrates his lover’s pregnancy.
