Her Father’s Secret, My Sentence

The Story

Tamsin Rowe faces a public reckoning ten years after her best friend Blythe dies by suicide following an assault. The entire town condemns Tamsin for protecting the attacker, leaving her isolated and dying while she refuses to reveal the name everyone demands. Imogen, once Tamsin’s closest friend, returns as the country’s richest woman and forces Tamsin into a public Memory Trial. This device, originally designed for death-row criminals, extracts every memory and broadcasts it to the world. As the trial begins, Tamsin begs Imogen to stop the proceedings. She understands that some truths, once exposed, can never be buried again. The town watches as the device activates, ready to pull the hidden past into the light. Tamsin stands before the crowd, her secret on the verge of exposure. The broadcast begins, and the memories start to flow, revealing the events that led to Blythe’s death and the reason Tamsin kept silent for a decade.
